Poetry Reading with Ann Arbor Poet Esther Hurwitz

July 29, 6-8 pm

The Chelsea Writers' Workshop continues its summer series with a poetry reading by Esther Hurwitz at Cranesbill Books on Tuesday, July 29, 6-8 pm. Esther's poems have appeared in many places, including Exquisite Corpse, The Huron River Review, the Ann Arbor (W)rites anthology, and two editions of the United Nations Dialogue Among Civilizations poetry anthologies. Soft as a Beagle's Ears is her first collection of poems. Esther  writes the “Toolbox” column for Washtenaw Community College’s CareerFocus magazine and co-directs the Writers Reading at Sweetwaters program in Ann Arbor. After Esther's presentation, writers are invited to read selections from their own poetry or prose. The series is free and open to the public.

Summer fun on Thursday Nights in Downtown Chelsea

Thursdays evenings through August 28

Well, well, well. You made it through the horribly long winter, the neverending spring, and now it's time for Sounds and Sights to begin a whole summer's worth of family fun! Stop by Cranesbill Books every Thursday night for carriage rides, departing from in front of the store as they have been in the past. And be sure to check out special appearances and offers on each night. Join in one of the best summertime traditions in Chelsea.

We will be willing to watch your stroller while you take your young kids for a carriage ride and hear about the history of Chelsea from local historian George Till.

Also, Cranesbill is carrying tickets to the S&S benefit concert with Mitch Ryder, to be held Thursday, July 24 in the space behind the Common Grill. Tickets are $35 and available at the store.

We are also selling tickets for the Rotary duck race, which will be held on July 26 and will benefit several local agencies and scholarships.
